The Financial Engine of
the firm
BHM Capital and Advisory is the Private Equity, Asset Management, and Financial Consulting practice of the firm. The firm has done a number of private equity deals in tech, commercial real estate, manufacturing, co-working spaces, and logistics in various markets with a focus on Africa and Europe. The portfolio currently has 20 active private equity investments.
BHM Capital currently operates several funds that are industry and region-specific. This division is the vehicle for capital markets investments of the firm's assets under management. BHM Capital has extensive expertise investing in the capital markets with a clear shariah compliant mandate.
BHM Advisory works closely with private sector investors that want to enter specific markets and industries where BHM has a presence or expertise.
Real Estate
Market leaders in residential, commercial, and industrial real-estate
BHM Real Estate is the real estate arm of the firm comprising residential, commercial, and industrial real estate assets. The firm finances, develops and manages all the properties that are a rental model exclusively. The real estate portfolio has a very sizable and dominant presence in East Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
Although the firm primarily focuses on its owned properties, the management arm does also consults for investors in the areas of valuation and project management viability. The management arm also provides a wide scope of real estate services, particularly specializing in real estate consultancy, management and sale of residential properties, and a variety of commercial properties in East Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
Trade
Innovative and Seamless Global Trade solutions
BHM Trading was the first division established as Bashir Trading Agency (BTA) in 1950 in Italy and then renamed in 2016 under the BHM Holding, Ltd umbrella. The trading firm was a pioneer in commodity trading in East Africa bringing sugar from India in the 1980s to the East African common market. BTA was also instrumental in bringing large multinationals to East Africa such as FIAT, Ferguson, and other prominent companies.
Currently, the trading arm has two divisions. The trade finance division works closely with BHM Capital to facilitate financial transactions in trades we deem to be profitable. Then physical trade from Africa to China, India, and European markets. Currently has various trading segments primarily in minerals, grains, and leather from six African markets.
Estates
BHM Estates is the farm and agribusiness arm of the firm
BHM Estates is the owner of very large farms in East Africa. The family has owned and operated farm assets since 1985 with banana farming being the largest export.
Currently, BHM Estates is reviving the farms into commercial farms to cultivate and trade bananas, soybeans, maize, and other staple foods. BHM Estates is looking forward to contributing to bringing back jobs and community livelihood through the increased production of the farm.

BHM Designs is a premier interior design company with projects currently focused in Africa but also with an international presence in Egypt, Italy, and the US. Although the BHM Designs team mostly focuses on its own properties, the firm works alongside various hotels and private residences to create a flawless and timely execution of any design project with the firm's distinct trademark style.
The team takes pride in creating luxurious properties that have a very intimate, personalized connection to the clients. BHM Designs walks clients through the process of interior remodeling, new construction, and interior finishing considering all our clients’ budgets. BHM Designs’ expertise is turnkey design services to a luxury, high-end clientele.
Foundation
Focused on uplifting and empowering people
BHM Foundation has been operating informally since 1950 and has aided in various charitable acts from financing wells, building dozens of mosques in East Africa, donating to various charities, financing the construction of various hospitals and universities, and facilitating the education, employment, and livelihoods of people.
BHM Foundation is now taking a more formal approach to providing funding to various charities, domestic NGOs, hospitals, technical schools, and orphanages by providing yearly grants. BHM Foundation has now a clearer mandate with a focus on the environment and education. The grant sizes vary from 10,000- 150,000 USD every year going to various organizations.
