Our firm has been practicing active but silent philanthropy for over five decades. As the next generation we find a new opening and opportunity to expand what our parents have started while keeping the same honourable ethos behind why we engage in philanthropy. Our father instilled this deep, unwavering belief that giving is the key to receiving blessings and we live and work aligned with that profound spirit.
Currently out of the sectors we have identified we have experience in one and plan to leverage that to execute on the others. We have decided to enter the education and skills training sector because there is an alternative opportunity to provide quality and affordable service.
Regional & Sector Focus
Our sector focus is on primary education, healthcare, and technical schools where we plan to partner with like-minded foundations and international NGOs where we have a synergetic mission.
Our intended areas of operations are where most Somalis reside in East Africa with a concentration on Somalia, parts of Kenya, and Ethiopia.

Primary Education
There is a focus on secondary and university education – almost an obsession when the primary education system is weak or non-existent and the literacy rate in Somalia continues to lag behind the rest of Africa and the world. Not laying those fundamental roots to the educational groundwork puts children at a disadvantage in their educational development and the workforce. Primary education is also when most girls drop out of school which we are keen to make sure at our schools doesn’t happen. We plan to provide meals and dignity packs (sanitary packs and pads for girls). We believe this cohesive method of approaching their educational experience will allow children to focus solely on gaining knowledge and confidence.

Healthcare
There is currently only a private healthcare system in many parts of where we want to provide preventative and basic care, diagnostics, natal care and eventually cancer treatment. The idea is to provide very affordable services to as many people as possible. We have experience in this sector having developed Ruqiyo Cabdi Hospital (named after our maternal grandmother) in 2017 in Cusbo in the Gedo region of Somalia. This hospital is currently successfully run by Trocaire. We aim to create more hospitals like these and find partners to run them with us.

Technical Skills Development
We believe that not all employment must come from higher education. There is a dire need of technical skills ranging from plumbing, electrical, sewing to more advanced such coding. We would like to create boutique, skill focused centres that tie the youth directly to employment.
